Langue Trouvée is a computer-generated, non-semantic form that is treated and
performed like written language. The programme mimics the aesthetics of a digital
learn-to-write software and asks the user to trace the langue trouvée as accurately
as possible. The act of imitation transforms these forms
into writing. The lines guide the user’s
movement, creating a dialogue between form and performer. Langue trouvée exposes the
user to a vicious circle of conditioning and deconditioning. The learning process
ends before the gesture of writing can become habitual: A form is created in the moment
and never reappears.
